While with Florida, Dave started a program called "Dave's Crew" for which the Lowry family purchased a block of tickets each month and gave them to children in need. The Lowrys in fact are a small crew on their own: Dave, his wife Elaine, daughters Sarah and Tessa and sons Joel and Adam. An avid golfer, Dave says his best score is 76. He played in 50 games for San Jose last year after being acquired from Florida in mid-November. A veteran of 791 career games, Dave has scored 262 points (126 goals, 136 assists) and more than 1,000 penalty minutes. Dave was a key member of the Panthers' drive to the Stanley Cup finals in 1996, posting 17 points (10 goals, 7 assists) in 22 playoff games.
