Jeff launched his acting career last summer, appearing in a commercial filmed for Power Bodies Training Center, owned by his personal trainer, Joe Grasso who is renowned throughout the Bay Area for exercise techniques to increase speed through explosion power training. During the summer, Jeff enjoys surfing and would like to travel someday to Australia and conquer the "Bonsai Pipeline." He took a vacation to Hawaii last summer and went on a cruise to Jamaica. A big football fan, Jeff was a San Francisco 49ers fan even before his move to the Bay Area. He was named the "player to watch" in ESPN magazine during the first week of April, 1998. Jeff was named as one of the NHL's Top 50 Players by The Hockey News last summer.

Jeff Friesen was the leading scorer on the Sharks last year, scoring 31 goals and 32 assists in 79 games. The speedster is one of the quickest skaters in the league, which helps him to blow by the opposition's defense to put the puck in the net.
